Smart Desk

The garment industry faces increasing pressure to operate sustainably while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Energy-intensive processes and high human occupancy levels contribute significantly to operational costs and environmental impact. Traditional monitoring methods often fail to provide real-time visibility into resource utilization, resulting in inefficiencies and wastage. Digitalization through IoT, data analytics, and smart sensors enables continuous monitoring of energy usage, occupancy patterns, and other utilities. This intelligent approach empowers manufacturers to optimize resources, enhance operational transparency, and align with global sustainability goals.

Usecase for garments industry sustainability

Datasheet (PDF)

Overview

IoT monitoring node with an RFID reader that attaches at each machine workstation to track real-time energy consumption and occupancy, feeding a central server and dashboard so factory teams can see exactly how much power every machine and operator seat is drawing. Correlating occupancy with energy demand exposes idle-running machines and unscheduled load, letting facilities cut waste without slowing production. Originally deployed across garment manufacturing tailoring lines, the same workstation-level monitoring applies to any facility digitizing energy and occupancy tracking machine-by-machine.
